About Us

We turn a day of spreadsheet work into thirty minutes

The lightning risk workspace for IEC 62305-2:2024, AS 1768:2021 and NFPA 780-2026, built with practising lightning-protection engineers. It turns a day of Excel and Word into one branded, audit-ready report.

An engineer setting a finished report down on a desk beside a stack of paperwork, with a city skyline behind

The maths is written down in a published standard. The judgement is the engineer's. Lumex™ carries everything in between, and lets neither slip.

Our story

Born from a day lost to a spreadsheet

A tired engineer at a desk late at night, surrounded by spreadsheets, standards and paperwork for a risk assessment

Lumex™ began on a consultant's desk, not in a product meeting. We sat with lightning-protection engineers to learn how the work really gets done, and watched one of them lose most of a day to a spreadsheet. He knew IEC 62305 cold; the standard was never the hard part. The day went elsewhere: dimensions typed cell by cell, coefficients chased across a dozen tabs, one wrong reference quietly pulling the risk off course, then a generic Word template rebranded by hand.

That was the moment the idea landed. The maths is deterministic and already written down in a published standard, yet every firm was rebuilding it by hand and betting on no typos in numbers a client would file. So we built Lumex™ around one belief: keep the judgement with the engineer, and let the software carry everything around it. Sphera running each standard by its own method, a branded audit-ready report, and a workspace that outlives the assessment.

Where AI helps

Lumi, the Lumex™ assistant

Ask about any figure and get the working behind it, with the clause it rests on.

Plain-language report summaries

Turns the computed figures into report prose that the engineer reviews and approves.

Draft input review

Points out draft values that look unrealistic, as advice only. Sphera itself refuses any value the standard does not allow.

Suggested next steps

Points to the smallest set of measures that brings the risk within its limit.

Why firms move over

What a lightning risk assessment demands, side by side

  1. Time per assessment

Excel and Word: 4 to 8 hours

    Lumex™: Under 30 minutes

  2. One way of working across the firm

Excel and Word: A different sheet per engineer

Lumex™: One guided flow everyone follows

  3. The whole team, scoped to their role

Excel and Word: A file per engineer

Lumex™: Roles and shared projects in one workspace

  4. Review and sign-off before issue

Excel and Word: Files emailed back and forth

Lumex™: Reviewer approval and engineer sign-off built in

  5. A record of who changed what

    Excel and Word: None

    Lumex™: An append-only audit log

  6. A client-ready, branded report

Excel and Word: A generic template

    Lumex™: Standard-cited, white-label on Enterprise

What Lumex™ does

Run the whole lightning risk assessment in one place

Engine

Sphera

Our proprietary engine runs each standard by its own method.

  • IEC 62305-2:2024, AS 1768:2021 and NFPA 780-2026
  • Works from the standard's own coefficients
  • A full trace behind every figure
  • Your lightning risk recomputes as you type

Reports

Branded, audit-ready reports

A client-ready PDF with an engineer sign-off block.

  • Your logo and firm name; your colours too on Enterprise
  • Every figure traces back to the clause it comes from
  • Each periodic inspection gets its own report
  • An evidence pack puts the assessment and the latest inspection into one PDF for an owner

Workspace

A workspace, not a spreadsheet

Projects, sites and zones in one place.

  • A shared report library
  • Team roles: invite engineers and reviewers
  • Assign each assessment and see who changed what
  • Automatic reassessment reminders
What we believe

Four things we will not compromise on

The numbers are sacred

Sphera computes every standard the same way, every time. That is the difference between a number you can defend and a guess.

The report is the product

Branded, defensible and ready in minutes, with your sign-off block, the deliverable a consultant is actually paid for.

Plain words, always

Explain the risk, show the report, skip the jargon. If a building owner can't tell what we do in ten seconds, the page is wrong.

Built for firms worldwide

Three standards in one tool, so a single account covers your projects wherever they are. You pay in US dollars, or in Indian rupees in India.

The company

A Webority Technologies product

Lumex™ is built by Webority Technologies, a product engineering team that ships software for the electrical and MEP consulting world.

Built with consultants. We work shoulder to shoulder with practising lightning-protection consultants. So Lumex™ mirrors how the assessment is actually carried out, from the first site input to the signed report.

The standard decides. The published standard, not our opinion, is the source of truth. Every calculation traces back to the standard it was made under, so the numbers you sign are defensible, auditable and consistent on every project.

Fast and defensible. Our aim: make a defensible lightning risk assessment the fastest part of an engineer's week, not the longest. Lumex™ serves firms worldwide with three standards in one tool, and grows one standard and one report at a time.
